2004 Bloomington Geometry Workshop

The geometry group at Indiana University
will again host an April workshop with the help of
the National Science Foundation
and the Department of Mathematics.
The aim of the gathering is to foster interaction among mathematicians
having diverse geometric interests.

Between talks & after hours:
- Restaurants and Coffee: There are many
restaurants near the University, with a wide variety of cuisines
including: Afghan, Burmese, Eritrean, Indian, Moroccan, Thai, and Tibetan.
Most have fare amenable to
vegetarian diets, and one can find a decent cup of
coffee in town.
- Entertainment: The internationally recognized Indiana University
School of Music presents Benjamin Britten's opera
on both Friday and Saturday nights (4/16-17). Alternatively, one could take
in Neil Simon's
Sweet Charity, a production of the renowned IU Theatre &
Indiana Memorial Union, a pleasant and
convenient hotel on campus.

- The College Motor Inn, a less expensive choice near the town square, a pleasant 15
minute walk from Math Dept.
Motel 6, inexpensive and good,
1.5 miles northwest of the Math Dept.
The mathematics department is housed in Rawles Hall at the
intersection of 3rd Street and Woodlawn Avenue.
